I did it!!

Tue Mar 31, 2009, 5:08 PM
Hey, guys! I haven't made a new journal for this account since August, but I thought I'd post this entry on both my pages because I'm just that happy about it!

I passed my sophomore review!! I was so stressed about it, but I'm so happy I passed! Also, later on when I have time, I'll be posting a few works I've done this semester. So, that's about it... have a great day, everyone!

Kitties!!

Tue Jul 15, 2008, 7:24 PM
So, my friend, Ty, and I were driving home from the bowling alley tonight, and a kitten almost ran out in front of me. I decided to turn back around because I definitely didn't want it to get hit. I parked my car on the side of the road and turned on the emergency lights since it was dark, and I went back to see if I could find it. My flashlight that I keep in my car wasn't working, so the only light I had was a cell phone.

I found that there was a mother cat and two kittens, and the mother was very skinny and pretty shy, so she was most likely a stray. I caught her and put her in the car, then went to find the two kittens. The mother on one of the kittens were easy to get because they were white, and they showed up in the dark, but the other one was a grey tabby, so it was much harder to find. A police car eventually pulled up while we were looking for the last one, and I explained that we were trying to find the kitten.

Anyway, we finally found it, and now I'm keeping them all in my bathroom until tomorrow. There's a lady down the street that has a lot of cats and dogs who might want them, and if she doesn't, I may take them to a shelter. Needless to say, my other cat isn't too happy with the situation, as the bathroom is usually his place.

Wow! This was a long journal... well... I'm off to bed!

Prepare for Rant

Fri Mar 28, 2008, 12:01 PM
Alright... in the last couple of years, there has been talk of Disney abandoning their attempts on CGI movies not done by Pixar. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy SOME of these movies, but I have to admit, I was elated at this news since, in my opinion, 2D animation is so much more beautiful, and it's the field I want to go into. Well, I was just taking a look at some of the upcoming projects [link] guess what?

MANY OF THEM ARE CGI!!!

Seriously, there are like two that are traditional animation and several others that are CGI. Are you KIDDING me?! What happened to leaving the 3D stuff to Pixar?! And the story ideas? Pure... crap... *sigh* I hate to say it, but if Disney keeps this kind of stuff up, it won't be good. It's like they're not even trying with some of these movies. The Bolt one? How unoriginal can you get? Disney used to VOMIT genius, and look at them not! I know CGI has nothing to do with the quality of the plot, but when Disney makes CGI, it makes me think it's just to cover up a horrible storyline, because they've done it in the past. Heed my words, Disney:

STICK TO 2D!! ... and STOP using 3D to cover up crappy storylines! If the storyline sucks, scrap the idea! Don't think 2D work gets enough attention? Well I would suggest taking a look at how it's being marketed, because that's usually the problem.

I'm sorry, but I'm just sick and tired of Disney's laziness in the past few years. Yes, they have made decent CGI (although the only one that I thought was up to par was Meet the Robinsons), but their talent is 2D. Honestly, Walt Disney must be rolling over in his grave right now. I mean, I just don't understand why they can't see that what most people want is the traditional animation back. The animation in Enchanted was a HUGE breath of fresh air, and I just hope that whenever Frog Princess comes out, it gets enough recognition to make the people at Disney see that 2D is the way for them to go.

So that's my huge rant. Maybe I'm wrong; maybe these movies will surprise me... but I doubt it. So... what do you guys think? Feel free to disagree, I just want other people's input.
